The Body Speaks: Are You Listening? The Power of Integrative Approaches to Wellness and Healing
The research evolving from the fields of Psychoneuroimmunology, psychobiology, are deepening our understanding of how the body and mind work together to generate the healing response. This workshop presents the latest scientific findings and evidenced-based treatment methods in the field of integrative approaches to health and healing. You will expand your understanding about how symptoms develop and eventually heal.
-Identify the knowledge and skills necessary to incorporate integrative practices for self and clients.
-Distinguish and explore foundational concepts of integrative practice and research: does it work? And why?
-Cultivate the skills of appraisal in the application of integrative theory into practice.
-Examine and contrast traditional and integrative histories of practice.
-Identify and discuss evidence based approaches (such as mindfulness, meditation, guided imagery, nutrition, “movement therapies,” and how they contribute to the clients wellness and healing.
-Examine ways to bring an integrative mind-set to the working environment in hopes of making the clinical work place more humane and responsive to the needs of practitioners and clients.
