Awareness through Performance is comprised of students who share a passion for diversity and social justice issues and a desire to further explore the dynamics of how these issues shape our world. Participants hope to positively impact the campus climate through this performance, as well as enhance cross-cultural awareness, and affect attitudes and behaviors.

The spring performance will openly examine and dissect the concept of privilege and power on many different levels, with the major outcomes being:

  • Increased awareness of the workings of power and privilege in our community, culture, world, etc.;
  • More acceptance for difficult dialogue that will aid in the journey towards greater understanding of these privileges;
  • Empowered UW-L community members who will recognize the responsibilities that come with privilege, speak out about how power and privilege shapes our world, and dig deeper to discover how privilege can be embraced to positively affect change and help others.
ATP serves as an excellent opportunity for curricular integration, staff development, personal growth, and more! Don’t miss it!! You will be inspired and enlightened.
