Back by popular demand, Bob Wingate will lead and acquaint our participants with the physical, cultural and geographical characteristics of the unique region of Southwest Wisconsin known as the “Driftless Area”. Plan to have a wonderful time and come with your own stories to share. Routes and Topics are as follows:

Route: La Crosse along the Mississippi River to Ferryville
   Topics: Formation of glacial Mississippi River; driftless area; French exploration and European settlement; locks and dams.
Route: Hwy. C to Soldiers Grove
   Topics: Caves and Karst, Kickapoo River--lunch stop in Rockton
Route: Hyw. 61 to Hwy. 131 along Kickapoo River
   Topics: Viola tornado; La Farge dam; Organic Valley Corporation
Route: Hwy. 33--Ontario, Cashton, St. Joseph Ridge
   Topics: Amish--stop at the cheese factory; Norwegians and tobacco; Villa St. Joseph
